Nov. 12, 2019-Former President Jimmy Carter is at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, where he is recovering from surgery to relieve pressure on his brain of subdural hematoma, according to a statement from the Carter Center. He is resting comfortably and is with his wife, Rosalynn.
The Carter Center said earlier that the pressure was caused by bleeding due to their recent falls.
"There are no complications of surgery," said the center in a Tuesday statement. "President Carter will remain in the hospital, as long as it is advisable for observation."

Carter, 95, fell twice last month. At the end of October, he fell into his house on plains, GA, and fractured his pelvis. At the beginning of that month, he needed 14 points above the eye after hitting his head at home.
The 39th president was treated for liver cancer and melanoma that spread to the brain in 2015.
