Prescription Fat Loss Pills - Many Taking Antibiotics Without a Prescription
But they are not no risk, especially when taken without medical supervision.
yet a new review of study suggests that it is exactly what many Americans are doing: malusing antibiotics of "sub-counter-counter" or ancient to self-medicate without seeing a doctor or get a recipe.
"There are clearly all kinds of ways in which people can get antibiotics without seeing a doctor," observed the study of the study of the study Dr. Larissa Grigoryan. She is a professor of family medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Some patients stores leftovers from valid prior prescriptions. Others get them from family or friends. Others still provide them online, or in flea markets, healthy food stores and even pet stores.
"And for all kinds of reasons, it can be very tempting that people get them one of these ways, than to see a doctor," Grigoryan said.
After the revision of 31 previous studies carried out between 2000 and early 2019, Grigoryan and his colleagues concluded that there is no explanation or standard of conducting antibiotic use.
Sometimes, the cost of medicines is the main factor. Sometimes it's lack of insurance, or do not want to lose work to see a doctor. Other patients simply want to avoid uncomfortable, Grigoryan added, "because they mistakenly think antibiotics are not large and do not need supervision."
An investigation indicated that among patients seeking care at a medical clinic only 1% said they used antibiotics without prescription. But another study discovered that two-thirds Hispanic migrant workers embrace practice, with other groups somewhere between.
A study noted that about 14% of Americans store old antibiotics for future use. Others have indicated that the habit is much more common, with a conclusion that almost half of the country keeps the leftovers. Still another suggested that a patient room is good with the use of antibiotics without a prescription.
"But the main message for those who do it is the same for everyone," Grigoryan said. "Taking antibiotics without prescription and supervision of the current doctor is unsafe."
In some cases. It can be useless, she said. For example, she noted that antibiotics are useless for a sore throat or streaming nose, "because viral concerns do not respond to antibiotics."
In other cases, there may be very serious allergic reactions or dangerous interactions with other drugs, a person may be taking, added Grigoryan. Antibiotics also have a direct impact on the microbial intestine composition, it warned: "interrupt the normal flora that are so important to our overall health."
Antibiotics are also one of the few drugs that "if misused by only one person can lead to drug resistance, which could harm us all of us," she warned.
"All these concerns make everything more important than people take antibiotics under the direction of a doctor," Grigoryan said.

"Using antibiotics without a prescription is dangerous for many reasons," Gupta said, which was not involved. To avoid these hazards, she added: "Getting a suitable diagnosis and proper treatment is essential."
But is rising antibiotic abuse? "It's hard to say, because this is an abundant problem. But what we can say is that it's a problem," Grigoryan said.
and the solution? "Spreading the word about the concerns involved would be great," Grigoryan said. "But the message we want to deliver can be different depending on the community. Therefore, this is a problem that really requires much more research so that we can understand exactly who is at risk."
